Blackle ! ! The power saver ! !

All the people in the world are aware of the world no.1 search engine Google. Now let me tell you about the new google customised engine "Blackle". Blackle, as said is the customized search engine of Google.Blackle was created by Heap Media just to remind the world the need to take the required actions in our everyday lives to save energy. So let me say more what I know.

"If Google, then why Blackle ?" Let me give me the answer till what I came to know.Blackle saves a lot of energy because the screen is predominantly black. "The image displayed is primarily a function of the user's color settings and desktop graphics, as well as the user defined color and size of open application windows; a given monitor requires more power to display a white (or light) screen than a black (or dark) screen." Got it ?

A post was made in January 2007, proposing that a Black google would save nearly 750 Megawattt hours- a year. Truly preserving. The theory stated that a black version of the Google search engine would save a fair bit of energy due to the popularity of the search engine. Since then there has been skepticism about the significance of the energy savings that can be achieved and the cost in terms of readability of black web pages. When I visited this page it was saving around 149,152.122 Watt hours . Even if the energy savings are small, they all add up.

One of the ultimate objective of this project is that seeing Blackle every time we load our web browser reminds us that we need to keep taking small steps to save energy. I would request all Indians on this special day to save energy on every single work we do.
